Monday Night Guy
by Liz Lovelock

This is a cute young Adult Romance Book that takes place on the college scene.  It is a quick read that has you smiling like a school girl at some parts and questions why girls put up with jerks in other parts.  When you read the description on Amazon, it does not mention that their is an abusive relationship that is coming to light in the story, but I would have read it anyways.  Sometimes you need a light read and this one for sure was it for me.  It is pretty innocent and best of all it was a free read on Kindle!!

This cute book is about two college students Parker and Addison, who kissed one night at a party a year ago.  Addison has a boyfriend, the captain of the football team.  She begged him to forgive her and take her back and he did, but now her relationship has been abusive and he is very controlling.  Parker is captain of the basketball team and since then, enjoys teasing Addison until he sees what her boyfriend is like and he becomes worried about Addison. Addison leaves work one night and shows up at a party at her boyfriends house and finds him and Parker's girlfriend in bed.  Now both Addison and Parker are single, but their exes are begging them for forgiveness now.  Parker now makes it part of his routine every Monday to stop into the café that Addison works at, no make sure she is doing ok, but Addison has made it clear she has no intent on getting her heart broke again.  Can Parker help tear down Addison's walls and help her to see she deserves so much more and he can be the one to do it.

The Dare by Lauren Landish

The Dare
By Lauren Landish

So this is a book that I really was really excited to read, it sounds just like the books that I get sucked into.  But honestly, this one just did not do much for me.  I just was not drawn into the storyline, I really did not want to finish reading it, but I always finish the books I start. I just thought it was very unrealistic and kind of immature. This is one that honestly I am glad to have finished and am now ready to move on to the next book!
Colton is at the top of the company,  and Elle works on the first floor and has admired him for years and he has never noticed her or acknowledged her.  Elle and her friend Tiffany play the I dare you game a lot and one of the dares was Elle to leave a mark of some sort in Colton's office, so she follows through and he catches her making copies of her butt on his copy machine and leaving them in his office.  He then promotes her to work with him, and they have a hard time keeping their feelings for each other out of the office.

If you just want to have a stupid smile on your face when you are reading, this might be the book for you.  I for sure had that stupid smile reading these two bicker back and forth.  I also really enjoyed that these were people my age (maybe a little older) that were both single, never married semi normal people.  Most of the time when it is a story about people in their 30s and 40s they have been married or have kids and quite frankly that can be annoying!  This is a story that I saw on a Facebook Ad and bought it and was drawn in from there.  I am not mad that I scrolled and found it!  I will probably be reading more from this author, it was fun, quick and really drew me in!  Oh and it is also on Kindle Unlimited so that is a plus... even though I bought it.

Dominic is a hard working man at his mother's magazine firm.  Ally is a girl who is just trying to make ends meet and has what seems like hundreds of jobs and it still dirt poor.  Dominic is a grump and thinks he can do what he wants and Ally just makes him follow one simple rule at the pizza restaurant… no phones.  Well that starts a whirl of some pretty amazing arguments, and Ally's boss comes over and fires her on the spot.  Dominic is at lunch with his mother who can't believe he was acting this way and she is on her way back to work where she spots Ally and offers her a job at the magazine, now her and grumpy man who got her fired now work in the same building.  So you know the arguments aren't going to stop but really who knew arguing with someone could be so much fun!!

Big Rock by Lauren Blakely

This is a friends to lovers/ fake romance turned real feelings book.  It is a super quick read that is definitely rated R!  This was a book that I purchased after I saw ads on Facebook for it.  Lauren Blakely has many books, so might try some others out and see if I like them!  I would give it a 4 out of 5.  It was good but some of the parts were just too much, but I guess that is what makes the story!

Spencer and Charlotte are business partners and own a couple bars together.  They were friends in college and have always been there for each other when they need each other, through failed engagements, media issues, when they need someone to step in when they are getting hit on at the bar, they always have each others backs.  Spencer has been tagged as a playboy, but in order to help his father land a business deal he needs to put the playboy side of his life aside and act like a committed man, that is where Charlotte comes into play, Spencer just throws out at the dinner that he is committed and has calmed down and it actually engaged to Charlotte.  Spencer talks to her the next day and agrees to be engaged as long as it helps her keep her ex-fiancée away!  They only need to act this out for one week, till his fathers deal goes through and then they can go back to their normal best friend lives, but they make ground rules and one is do not fall in love, but what happens if they do?

Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker

Say You Still Love Me
by K.A. Tucker
Say You Still Love Me is a quick read about a two teens that fell in love at summer camp and then run into each other 13 years later.  This is a good read that does keep you hooked.  It is written where every other chapter takes place 13 years ago and then the next is present time.  So you get to see the past and present and read the story from both time periods.  I would say it was a quick read and it is written very well.

Piper is the rich girl whose mother wants her to experience being a normal teen, so she sends her to a summer camp to be a counselor.  Kyle is a poor boys whose dad is in prison and he doesn't always follow the rules that are set up at camp.  When Piper and Kyle first see each other they know they like each other and are going to have the best summer.  At the end of the summer job they are in love but Piper never hears from Kyle, she calls him, texts him and he does not reply to her at all and she is heartbroken.  As adults Piper is being prepped to take over her fathers business and has more money than she knows what to do with.  One day when she is walking into work she sees a familiar person and it happens to be Kyle, the newest security guard in her building. When Piper approaches him, Kyle does not even remember her name and she is shocked.  Does Kyle seriously not remember her, because for Piper she can't forget the boy that broke her heart 13 years ago.

Fake It Til You Break It by Meagan Brandy

Fake It 'Til You Break
by Meagan Brandy

This was a book that showed up on my Facebook and it was free to read with my Kindle Unlimited Subscription. Honestly my first thought, was To All the Boys I've Loved Before, and yes it is similar but it is oh so different as well.  This is like the rated more mature version of that book with a lot more twists and turns and kids who do not have great family lives.  It held my interest thought the whole story and I kept asking myself what is going to happen, so therefore I kept reading and finished this in about three days!  I really did like it and the plot line kept you reading and reading!  Great book!

It follows the characters Nico and Demi.  Demi and Nico are neighbors and were friends when they were kids but one day that just stopped until they get partnered up in Chemistry and have to be lab partners.  Demi is not a fan of this because she has been lab partners with Alex (who she has been  crushing on for a couple years) for the last three years.  Nico tells Demi that Alex would notice her if they fake date, but they have to do everything real couples do because it needs to look real, but oh boy does it look real.  Can these actually real date, when she has dance, he has football, they have parents that have a lot of problems and they are constantly being pulled away from each other from friends and exes?  What happens when real feelings start taking over, can they fake it?

Hot Asset by Lauren Layne

Hot Asset
by Lauren Layne

I love me some Lauren Layne books, and this one is no different.  This was a quick read with fun characters and a story line that draws you in.

Ian is a broker on wall street and Lara is an investigator who looks into brokers who might be doing some insider trading.  Ian had a gut instinct and made millions of dollars when he sold stock and then a month later the company tanked.  Lara's company received a tip that Ian might have known about the company and Lara is sent to interview everyone closest to Ian.  Ian is a charming, rich and good looking man and Lara needs to keep it professional but is having a tough time.  This case has a lot resting on it, if Lara can find the evidence her professional goals can be reached, but can she keep her personal feelings out of the situation?

We're Just Friends by J.P. Comeau

We're Just Friends
by J.P. Comeau

So I signed up for kindle unlimited because well there was one book I really wanted to read and it seemed like a good idea.  There are a lot of books on there.  This is one that popped up on my lists of books recommended for me.  I read the reviews, read the summary and thought I would love this book.  The book was good, not great.  It was a shorter book and it honestly left me with some questions and that always drives me bonkers when questions are left unanswered.  It could be that I am the only person who wanted to know those answers, but whatever!
We're Just Friends is about Jake and Julianna who were best friends in high school.  Julianna was bullied by the popular crowd that Jake was a part of and he put a stop to it and the two were friends from that moment on.  After graduation, Jake left and never looked back.  He became a billionaire business man who is constantly in media for his playboy behavior and Julianna went on to get married and have a daughter, and believes the rumors she has read about Jake.  Julianna is going through a divorce and Jake comes back to town to visit his family and calls Julianna to meet up.  They both had feelings for each long ago and never acted on it, after meeting up they realize they the old feelings are still there.  Can Julianna get past his playboy behavior and trust him and can Jake leave his business and his past life and settle down?

Yours in Scandal by Lauren Layne

Yours in Scandal
by Lauren Layne

Back to what I love, reading Lauren Layne Books.  This is a Man of the Year novel set, and I believe there are two books in this series (the second is released in September), but they can be read as stand alone books! Lauren Layne writes in a way that makes the books hard to put down and they are such quick reads!  Also bonus points, I just started Kindle Unlimited and this was a book on there.... I WAS SHOCKED!!!  So that is an added bonus, and the other two are on there as well!

Yours in Scandal is about the New York Mayor, Robert, who was just named Man of the Year.  Robert is single and has a squeaky clean background.  He is almost done with his eight years as mayor and people are starting to question why he is still single and it is something that might hurt him as he gets ready to run for Governor.  Enter  Adeline the party planner, who is hired by Robert to throw one of his events as Mayor.  Adeline happens to be the current Governor's daughter, and she has a very scandalous history. She now finds herself working for her father's opponent in the next election for Governor.  Should Adeline worry that her father's opponent is trying to get close to her to get at her father or should she trust the chemistry building between them?
